If your dog goes missing but is appropriately licensed and tagged - it will be easier for animal control to identify your dog and have them returned safely - and quickly
It's estimated that only 23% of dogs in Greenwich are licensed! Meanwhile, our neighbors in Darien and Westport are doing their paw-duty and have about 80% of all dogs licensed
A dog license is a "public" indicator that your dog is up to date on their vaccinations and required to visit Grass Island Dog Park and all other dog parks in the area
An accurate count of dogs in our community will help support our initiatives to make Greenwich more pet-friendly and our goal to revitalize the only dog park on Grass Island, and advocate for another dog park location in town!
The dog license fee is nominal - just $8 - but supports the greater good by providing vital funding for the APCP, which offers vaccination/sterilization benefits to pets being adopted from municipal facilities and those owned by low-income Connecticut residents, as well as feral cats being helped by nonprofit organizations
